Keeping your documentation up to date

Karas answers from the version of your documentation we last indexed. When you change an article, the change reaches your customers at the next re-index.

How to request a re-index

Email support@usekaras.com and tell us what changed. You do not need to send the content again if we read your help centre from a URL — we re-read it. If you sent us an export, send the new export.

We re-index within two working days of the request.

When to ask for one urgently

Some changes are worth a same-day request because the old answer is actively harmful:

  • a policy change, especially returns, refunds, delivery times or pricing
  • a product or feature that has been withdrawn
  • a correction to something that was factually wrong
  • anything you would put in a customer-facing announcement

Routine additions and edits can wait for the next scheduled re-index.

What happens during a re-index

Your documentation is re-read, re-split into sections, and the search indexes are rebuilt. The previous version keeps serving answers until the new one is fully built and verified, so there is no window where the assistant has no documentation. Nothing about your widget, your branding or your key changes.

What we check afterwards

If your starter questions are affected, we re-verify each of them end to end — that the answer is still correct and that its citations still resolve to the right articles — before considering the re-index done. See Choosing the starter questions.

Automatic sync

Not available yet. Re-indexing is a request you make and a job we run. When automatic sync from a help-centre platform exists, we will say so here rather than implying it in the meantime.
