Cancelling
How to cancel
Email support@usekaras.com. There is no retention flow and nobody will call you.
Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period. We do not charge for the period after that, and we do not pro-rate a refund for the period you are in.
What happens to your site
Remove the script tag from your template whenever you like. If you leave it in place after your account closes, the launcher simply stops appearing — your pages are unaffected. See Adding Karas to your website.
What happens to your data
Your indexed documentation is deleted within 30 days of your account closing.
Your ratings and handoff records are deleted on the same schedule. If you want them before they go, ask before you cancel and we will export them.
Tickets already in your helpdesk are yours and are untouched. They stay where they are under your own retention policy.
Your helpdesk credential is deleted with your account. You should also revoke it in your helpdesk, which is the change that actually guarantees it cannot be used.
Billing records are kept as long as tax and accounting law requires.
See Data retention and deletion.
Getting your data out
Ask before you cancel and we will send you your ratings and handoff records as JSON. Your documentation we do not need to return — it is a copy of what you sent us, and you have the original.
There is nothing proprietary to extract. Karas holds no content you do not already own, which is deliberate: it should be possible to stop using us without losing anything.
Coming back
Tell us and we will re-index and re-issue a key. If it is within a few months your previous configuration — branding, greeting, starter questions — is usually still on file, so setup is faster the second time.
If you are cancelling because it did not work
We would genuinely like to know which answers were wrong. A short reply with a few examples is worth more to us than the subscription was, and it costs you two minutes. No sales response, we promise.
